Advertising & sponsorship policy

How we fund this free directory while keeping healthcare information independent and paid placements clearly labeled.

Last updated: October 21, 2026

Doctors World Info is free for patients. We fund it through clearly labeled sponsored listings from doctors and healthcare facilities, and through display advertising. This policy explains how we keep commercial content separate from the information people rely on to make healthcare decisions.

Our principles

  • All paid listings are labeled “Sponsored” wherever they appear.
  • We verify the provider’s registration or licence before a paid listing goes live.
  • Payment never affects the “Verified” badge, organic search order, or editorial content.
  • We do not accept sponsorships for treatments or products that are prohibited by applicable law or by our advertising policy.

Doctors, hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic centers can pay for additional visibility. A sponsored listing:

  • always carries a visible Sponsored label and appears in a separate, highlighted area above or beside regular results — never mixed invisibly into organic results;
  • is shown only on pages relevant to the provider’s specialty, location, or facility type;
  • may include an enhanced profile, booking or website links, and a patient enquiry form. Outbound links are marked rel="sponsored" for search engines;
  • goes live only after we confirm the provider’s identity and current registration or licence with the relevant authority or directly with the provider.

Sponsorship does not mean we endorse or recommend a provider. Patients should always make their own judgement and consult a qualified professional.

Display advertising

Display ads are served by Google AdSense and are labeled Advertisement. Ads are not shown on pages used to report errors, enquire about listings, or read our policies. Where required by law, ads are personalised only after you give consent, and you can change your choice at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer. Google’s own advertising policies, including its healthcare and medicines policy, also apply to the ads it serves.

What we accept

  • Registered doctors, dentists, and allied health professionals with a valid licence.
  • Licensed hospitals, clinics, diagnostic laboratories, and pharmacies.
  • Health insurance, medical education, and health-related services that comply with local law.

What we do not accept

  • Prescription-only medicines advertised directly to the public, where this is prohibited by law.
  • Unproven treatments, “miracle cures”, or claims to cure serious diseases such as cancer or diabetes.
  • Guaranteed outcomes, before-and-after claims that are misleading, or fake patient testimonials.
  • Unlicensed providers, or providers whose registration we cannot confirm.
  • Sale of human organs, unapproved weight-loss products, or anything illegal in the provider’s jurisdiction.
  • Content that exploits fear, targets vulnerable people, or discourages people from seeking appropriate care.

We may decline, pause, or remove any sponsorship that breaks this policy, local healthcare advertising rules, or professional codes of conduct, and we will review complaints promptly.

Measurement & reporting

To report results to sponsors, we count anonymous events such as how often a sponsored listing is shown, how often its links are clicked, and how many enquiries it receives. We do not use these events to identify you, and we do not share personal information with sponsors except the details you choose to send through an enquiry form. Read more in our privacy policy.

Questions & complaints

If you think a sponsored listing or ad is misleading or inappropriate, please report it or email info@doctorsworldinfo.com.
